I use a handplane to sort the edges of the board, need one good side then work from it. Centre doesn’t have to be exact centre of the board as there’s usually room to have the fretboard off to one… Read more»

Welcome Dave, not long joined myself. My first neck was made from old floorboards, mahogany and maple, still perfect now after a couple of years. Old wood can be good as it tends to have finished doing any moving…. Read more»
