Good luck. Repairs and restorations are about deceiving the eye, so straight lines don’t always have to be at 90 deg they can be at an angle to match grain lines.

That’ll be great if you could post that to me.

@robin Small chip like that are hard to fix, sometime you have to make them bigger to fit a patch. Maple doesn’t usually look good with sawdust and glue, probably need real wood. I would do this bit first and…   Read more»

@robin I’ve got a thin piece of dark wood that could be Rosewood. I can stick it in the post for you if you want it. It’s approximately 3mm thick. 

@Robin – the easiest fix for that might be to mix some sanding dust with some glue and fill it?
