I think it’s a bit like greenheart which is used in sea water piers because it doesn’t rot. -

The owner had varnished the back of the neck with ordinary polyurethane several years ago and he wanted it back to bare wood and re-sprayed. The varnish I had to scrape off was thicker then the FB. -

i think that’s the difference between professional builders and amateurs. If you are making lots of the same model then setting up for power tools is worth the time, but if you are just making one its not. -

@tv1010101 Sometimes I think people over use power tools and it makes the job more complicated than it is. I was lucky that I already had Square edge timber of the correct size and only had to scrape the finish… Read more»
