Time to carve the back braces into shape.

Then glue in the four back braces.

The next stage was to mark out each of the areas of the centre strip where each of the four back braces will pass through. Then carve them out

……then glued it onto the inside of the back

I used an off cut from the soundboard to make the centre strip for the back

Then I cut out the shape of the back
🙏🎶🙂🎸

Then I plane on the radius of 20 foot using the shooting board.

Planing down the back braces flat and square. They are all 7mm thick and will eventually be 14mm high but I’m leaving them 20mm high for now.

…..then planing and scraping down to 2.8mm thickness.
