Bare knuckle pickups are really something else. Wow!
@clinton You have Bareknuckle pickups in this guitar? Aren’t they absolutely magnificent? I love them too. It’s only in recent times I’ve started using them and I really cannot believe the difference from other brands, they are so clear and well balanced. Obviously they come with a hefty price tag but I think it’s worth it. I haven’t tried their P90s yet but I’m sure I will in a future build.
Rock n Roll 🤘😁🤘🎸

@clinton I have used Bareknuckle humbuckers so far and they are just wonderful.
In my red and pink striped Bandsman I’ve got Bareknuckle Rebel Yell humbucker in red and pink bobbins. (See pic)

In this matt black Bandsman I’ve put in a Bareknuckle VHII humbucker with black and yellow bobbins. (See pic)

*Another* excellent build and finish there Mr @clinton - congrats on that and whoever it's going to!
Re the BKPs - they've become very expensive now. I remember buying them when they were ~£150/set, probably 15-ish years ago. Just had a look now, and they start at >£300/set.
At £150, I could spoil myself. At £300+, I'm not sure that my ears would appreciate the difference between BKPs and something at half (or less) of their price. We've got a few pickup businesses over here in the UK - small businesses still owned/run/wound by the main guy - who produce excellent pickups at a price point that I find a lot more comfortable.
Most of mine now come from Oil City Pickups (here). I've known Ash more-or-less since he started the business and have seen him grow it very successfully, with a lot of appreciation from his customers. Might not be a viable for you out in Hawaii, but might be an option for @Boo (and others here) as he's not quite as far away ...

@tv101 The last set of Bare Knuckle pickups I bought cost me nearly £500. They only made 200 sets and the profits went to humanitarian aid for Ukraine. It was my way of helping out and I got some wonderful pickups out of the deal.
Ordinarily I wouldn’t spend that much on a set of pups but I would spend half that, they are wonderful pickups.
I am also open to trying other smaller companies or one man bands, everyone has to start somewhere. I’ll try out your suggestion on a future build, soon, as soon as I can.
At the moment my time is taken up mainly by digging foundations for a large deck I’ll be building soon.
I have found a bit of time at weekends to play with building guitars, not much though. I just wanted to keep my eye in so I’m just making Barncasters and using whatever materials I have to hand. I guess I’ll put up some pictures on a separate post.
I’m missing you lot here on the forum and of course @markbailey and Carol
We need to get this place rocking again, soon. 🤘😝🤘🎸
