RE: ES335

Great feedback guys, so we’ll go with what we have available and I am sure that it will result in some fantastic guitars. Darrin, Mr Fabitrabbit, has already provided some slightly modified files for ...

I agree. I just want to try the process. 40 years ago I had an epiphone casino guitar that had major feedback problems but was great to play. If I could make something approaching that I would be happ...

RE: ES335

I've never even held a 335 so would have nothing to compare it with. Having watched the Gibson videos now, I like the idea of building a hollow body archtop. I think it would be a huge challenge to me...

RE: ES335

I agree with Les (Otters). I want to build an arch top, not a 335. But the 335 construction, and in particular the neck join, really interests me. It looks like more like a set-neck than a traditional...

RE: ES335

Hi Darren, I’m probably completely overthinking the issues here, but I’m trying to work out how to fit a 335 style laminated guitar body into a Bailey style workflow. For the avoidance of doubt, I don...

Bugger, png with a transparent background isn’t a lot of use, and I can’t edit the post so I’ll add this addendum: Attachment : 335 body contours v5 left.jpg

RE: ES335

Good morning 335 fans! Just a quick question. I have a drawing that shows the thickness of the laminated front and back as being almost 6mm thick (1/16" maple + 1/10" poplar + 1/16" maple). This sound...

Hi Darren, My Yamaha AES1500 has an almost 5mm thick top (I try not to do inches). And unlike the 335, it has a neck block and bridge block with a couple of top braces supporting the pickups, rather t...

Hi Matt, send the files to darren.king@bagpress.com. Do you know what app your designer is using to draw the plan? Best file types for me are .ai, .pdf or .dwg (LT2000 version). Also if you can get hi...

Got to agree with Darren about sanders - I've got a Mirka - obscene price at around £400 but totally brilliant - Mark uses one as well!

Hi Matt, I have to agree that Festool stuff is sodding expensive but it is designed for professional use and it is far from being just a posh labelling exercise. I would find it pretty much impossible...

DeWalt 621 is a great little router and probably has the best dust extraction of any that I have ever used including my Festool routers. If you see one in good condition on eBay snap it up. Darren
