@boo looking at the degree of interlocking grain I’d probably ID this as sapele but no matter, if it’s straight grained it should still make lovely body or parts for a composite neck.

@darrenking I think that quilted stuff is unbelievably beautiful and I agree, I would only ever buy it for caps. It’s just ridiculous to consider having a full thickness blank.
