I bought one of these but it was defective as the dual mode button depressed inward and got stuck and would not operate as intended.
I have been refunded and have been debating whether to buy another as these have been endorsed by Ben Crow of Crimson Guitars and I may have been unlucky.
Does anybody have any experience of this model and are they actually reliable?
I have considered the smaller model 1010w JOF0001 as it is less complicated and does not have the dual function button, but is it capable (1.5Hp) of routing the perimeter of a a solid body guitar using a template as a hand held router?
Hi Kevin, I'm using the JOF now for a couple of years and it completely suits my needs for guitar building. It has plenty of power to route a body perimeter or pockets. It also comes with a large base plate, very handy for surface routing a headstock to its proper thickness.
I think you'll be happy with it!
Measure once, cut straight away and maybe you're lucky......
Thanks Edwin
I'll definitely get today!
Edwin - what speed setting do you prefer to use?
Thanks @edwin I will get this today!
