Hi Mark

Just put the truss rod into a neck and glued down the fretboard. While checking it over I noticed that there was a rattle when you tap/bump the neck

Video attached (I hope) This is also on the others I have built but never noticed but not on the guitars I have bought. Have I been doing something wrong here?

Followed the online courses made sure the rod is the correct way up and clamp the fillet down correctly. Only thing I can think of is the slot is too wide for the rod.

Whats your thoughts.

Thanks Mike

Sounds like the truss rod is loose - that will allow it to rattle - try just nipping it up till it goes tight - adding just enough tension to stop it rattling.

You should be able to tighten the rod enough to stop it rattling without bending the neck.

Measure twice, cut once...
