Greetings!

That looks lovely!

What's the construction around the bevel?

Hi Mike @mabbottttt (interesting username 😉 )

Good to see you here.  And even good-er to see the pics - thanks for posting those.

I’m torn at the moment;

  • buy a Moonshiner
  • try a home build Moonshiner
  • head up to Baileyland and do an acoustic build course

All I’ve decided really is that it’ll be a Moonshiner.

With a bevelled edge.  I *like* that bevelled edge!

Option two or three.

If you can't wait, or budget is important, option 2

But I predict option 3 is a social experience you'll never forget (especially if they can have more than one person on a workshop)

I’ll never forget the first 3 experiences @jonhodgson 😉

I’ve done 3 electric build courses.  The first because I never thought I could build a guitar, the second to learn how I did it the first time, and the third just for treat-to me!

Another treat to me is on the cards ... lockdowns permitting.

You would have to ask Mark. I think it was a piece of mahogany stuck on the inside of the top/side and then planed out. Mark had pictures of the construction but I can’t find them on my iPad anymore.

@Mark Bailey, a Bonus section on cutaway types and also plans for a moonshiner would be good too.

Best option: Commission a Moonshiner with Arm Chamfer and watch me make it live!

Damn, that's tempting ... but then I'd miss out on the workshop trip ...

I did consider that @deej but I'd miss out on the workshop trip and meeting up with everyone again.

Plus my wife actually asked whether I'd really enjoy making it myself more, rather than just commissioning Mark to do it.

Tough call though ...

I would never dare even think that @Deej (pretty sure she knows what I'm thinking most of the time) ...

But she does recognise the general improvement in DiY, use of tools, and ability to actually make something that does what it should (other than guitars), so she sees the benefits from me learning how to make guitars!!

Most of our missus know what we are thinking because we only think of a few things and only one thing at a time......

Measure once........
Measure again.........
Sod it - make tea!
