This is My Favourite Song For This Moment......I like this song because they nicked the riff from me back in the late eighties......... although I imagine we could all claim to have written this riff.Β

On the subject of stolen riffs - the reason I took up Electric Guitar was this egotistic, yet talented guy Ritchie Blackmore.Β
Understandably 50% of riffs I wrote had his approach , so I came up with this one about 18mths before I heard it on a Rainbow LP.
As far as I know, he never bugged my bedroom, but only he could comment!
Enjoy

I think I remember seeing an interview with him talking about all the things he nicked from others so maybe he did here you playing it somewhere. 😂

On the subject of stolen riffs -
There are only 8 notes give or take some #&flats so it's difficult not to do what someone else has already done. Listen to these 3 songs......Β

Hereβs mine for today. I recently listened to this album again after years and this one was always my favorite. The 30th Anniversary edition has a tighter sound and the obligatory bonus tracks. Chris Poland is one of my favorites, such an expressive player with his soaring, sour notes. Heβs a master of the whammy bar and I love his unique approach.
Practice on scrap...
My song for today is Electric Gypsy by Andy Timmons. This is a live studio version with Martin Miller and his session band. I love Andy Timmons, he has such great tone and clarity in his playing as well as having the best touch and feel of those strings he masterfully uses to express himself musically. Martin Miller is pretty damn good too.Β

Yeah Andy Timmons is definitely a great guitar player. At least something good came out of Danger Danger! 😂😂😂

@mattbeels Yeah you are right about that. They were not good but he certainly is now. He is actually one of my favourite players these days.Β

I went to a concert of the thin white duke in Rotterdam in 1978. This was the opening song of the concert. With Carlos Alomar as the conductor.
Hey @marcel. Is that Gary Numan on keyboards?Β
