I will showcase this when it is done but I thought this is the appropriate place to post it at the moment.
Whilst waiting for some quite expensive woods for another build project, I thought I would make a quick barncaster using very cheap wood.
I had some lengths of ‘white wood’ left over from a DIY job (bought from Wickes) and I collect old wooden pallets from wherever I can (free). I process the pallet wood using a jointer and a planer/thicknesser.
I’m not expecting any decent tone or sustain and I’ve glued and screwed the top panels on. ? This was an experiment to see how cheap and quickly I could throw something together. I’m curious to see how it sounds and plays. Oh, I’m cheating with the neck, I bought a cheap Chinese neck for £20 off eBay! ? (It’s actually pretty good)

Not brilliant by any means but I had a bit of fun. ?
I’ll put some top coat on tomorrow to seal it all in.
