Worth watching stuff on YouTube to get some tips on winding - also on how to take what you have wound and make it into a pickup. I haven’t found much to explain how number of turns of wire, strength of magnet etc change the sound of a pickup....
Measure once........ Measure again......... Sod it - make tea!
