Hello my dear virtual friend! I'm alive. Been busy with many other things. Making music (I play in 4 bands now), painting and just returned from a 4 week holiday to Scotland and the north of England. And I'm ashamed that I've neglected my duties on this forum.

The forum has been very quiet recently, since the live streams finished people don’t seem to be posting as much. I guess people have had to go back to work and not spend as much time guitar making.
By the way how did we acquire the status of Illustrious Member. Somebody with a sense of humour I think.

Yes, there was definitely a lot of crossover between the livestreams and the activity here - one prompted the other which fed back into the first, which generated more comment, etc.
And I'm as guilty as anyone of having been absent from here. Work completely took over for a few months and I've struggled to find time even for some "quick" Bliss recordings - so definitely no chance for any guitar buildery activity.
🙁

@tv101 That sunny day was the one before we were there. No, actually the weather was ok. Only had two or three day with some showers but also some sunny days. Then again, one doesn't go to Scotland to go sunbathing on the beach.

I haven’t posted progress on any builds as I’ve been busy with non guitar stuff although I have been spraying a Tele neck earlier this week and doing an oil finish on the body, which isn’t good enough to photograph yet.
Some people call me a tool, others are less complimentary. Tools being useful things.
@tv101 Sorry to disappoint you, I am still around, not in prison. 😂
However, I have got my hands full with my new home in Scotland, no time for guitar building I’m afraid. I still don’t have access to internet at the house yet but an engineer is coming in the next few days to install our satellite broadband system (not Starlink).
I’m busy organising one of my workshops, ready for guitar building and more. I have an acre of land here and outbuildings so plenty of scope.
I have great views from my property. I wake up to see the sea every morning and when it’s a clear night and the moon is out, the light it casts on the sea is truly beautiful. Had a paddle on the beach too.

Its a myth that you'll have time on your hands when you retire. My #003 guitar build has come to a halt, I'm seldom a home. I'm far to busy sitting in the sun looking at this view.
This is September's sunny day, and no, the sky hasn't been photoshopped.

That is a wonderful view.
I think that West Coast is pretty much the most beautiful part of the UK, in terms of wild landscapes. We had some great trips up there - when we lived a lot closer. It's a day's drive just to get there nowadays!
The fam and I recently returned from a month long trip to the states and we had a blast! Got the email notification on the way back home about @tv101 ‘s post while I was completely nackered during a 5 hour layover in London and then I figured I’d just wait to reply until we first heard from @deej. Well that came and went and now I’m all out of excuses.
Anyhow a big hello to y’all! I guess that since I’ve finally managed to log in maybe I’ll get back in the habit, especially now that I appear to be an Illustrious Member!
I guess if you had a 5hr layover in London, you managed to fit in a sight-seeing trip round all the main attractions in London? I think that's the way it's done?
And - the question that everyone's been asking on the other thread - did you finally get your curtains & cushions sorted out for the workshop?
