Did anyone (else) catch the Carol-comment during today's livestream, wherein she mentioned that they were hoping to be able to open the workshop for courses later this year?
So, who's going, for what??
I'd dearly love to get back there. More so after watching all the livestreams over the past months.
I quite fancy an acoustic build, but those are normally 2, 3 or more trips, and it's a day's drive there, and then a day's drive back again for me. So I'm wondering whether I could do some of the build here, and then get up to the workshop for a finish-it-off week.
Be great if some of us livestreamers could co-ordinate our visits ...

Yep @TV101
I've asked Carol to book me on the first 335 course they can...hopefully I’ve jumped the queue.
I have too many guitars...said no one in the world..ever!
Up for a livstream build team if the Bailey cans can juggle

I really fancied making a 335 too @Deej, but I've never really got on with the body shape. I just find them too big to be comfortable.
I've got a 335-equivalent Yam SA700 at the moment, and it barely ever comes out of its case.
I thought originally perhaps I could make a smaller 335 (more like a 339), but I don't think that'd be possible really - would need a whole different set of moulds (if I'm thinking right).

I would like to do an acoustic course but have not signed up yet. I've never been there and only have a motorbike so am waiting for lockdown to finish and see how far it is

@tv101 I would love to go but I have no money left, I need to start earning again, I’m fed up with this covid lark. I’m on the bones of my arse financially, I’ve spent all my government covid grant on metal flake and candy paint. 🤣
It will come eventually.
Make guitars, not war 🌍✌️🎸
and see how far it is
Just south of Ayr @rocknroller912.
TBH, it's a PITA to get to - it's a min 7hr (400mile) drive for me, just not the sort of thing I'd do *every* weekend. Not far from Prestwick airport, and there's a trainline from Glasgow to Ayr, if either of those options help.

With skills like your you should be selling custom guitars as a job.....
I hope you sort the work in the meantime...hopefully no further strains stop the opening up of the U.K. further than they are needed.

Not long now @Boo. Relaxation of lockdown dovetailing nicely with Spring arriving. You're about to get *very* busy in the gardening game ...
FWIW, our gardener has been able to come throughout lockdown (last year and this) as it's hardly work that he can do from home!

I'd be up for a build - that's for sure.
I need an acoustic - but will ask Mark to do one for me. Can't afford the multiple visit times.
I'd be looking to build a Curve neck-through with one of those wobbly bridge things, I think.
It's a long way from Wiltshire!

I did live in Ayr for three years in the 70s when I was a student but didn't have a bike then so never went out of the town much. There are some different routes from where I live none of them pleasant driving. Mainly I wasn't sure if it's in the sticks, which I hate or near civilisation (pub) so was more concerned about a daily commute. Ayr station has been partly closed recently due to the hotel next door falling down so not sure on the train situation either.

I'm not saying it's remote but their neighbours still paint themselves blue.

From what I remember, Bailey-central is about 10-15mins drive from Ayr town centre.

You're not kidding about the neighbours there is a rumour that Sawney Bean the well known west coast cannibal is still alive and looking for victims.
