Could you please explain your shooting board? I don't think I've seen one with the holes and dowels before and can't figure out how to use that feature
Cheers @swepri
The shooting board has a series of holes at even intervals along the length of the board. I think mine were set at 8cm apart and about 3cm back from the edge (it's hiding in the back of my shed at the moment so I'll check the sizes when I next get in there). There is a coach bolt with an Allen Key head fitted through the centre of the board and a couple of pieces of wood (one thin piece about 10mm and a thicker piece about 20mm). This is used as a clamp for holding the brace in place.Β
Place a couple of dowels into the holes near the end of the brace. Fit the brace under the wooden clamp. Put another small piece of wood the same thickness as the brace under the back edge of the wooden clamp.Β
Put the 20 foot radius template up against the edge of the brace and pull it tightly up against it using the f-clamp. Then tighten up the bolt with an Allen Key so that it holds the brace in place bent at a 20 foot radius.Β
You can then remove the f-clamp and the 20 foot template. Plane the edge of the brace until you get a complete shaving across the whole length of it.Β
When you release the brace from the board it will bounce back to create a 20 foot radius on the edge.Β
When I get into the shed I'll check the measurements and take some closer pictures for you.Β

Cheers @koendb. How's your build coming on?Β
The Renaissance guitar build is on hold until september, but I started making a mold for a dreadnought guitar, I am planning to build a 12Β string and a bass guitar next. Meanwhile I am working on some guitar repairs and building a little walnut drawer tool chest.
