A great video Steve, keep them coming. You seemed a little surprised that the slot depth was less than 11.5, it probably is close to 11.5 as the flat probe on vernier wouldn't have gone to the bottom of the radiused slot. But hey, no need to quibble over 0.3mm.
Thanks Robin
Yes, good point. I think it's easy to get really caught up with mega tiny details and to remember there is tolerance...
I'm trying hard to be accurate and most importantly SLOW..ha ha
I've been filiming some more bits so moe videos if people find it useful/interesting..
cheers

Thanks for doing another video. Missing the live streams a lot so it’s good to watch someone building.

You know I’m just gonna have to disagree with you there @steveadams. Don’t sell yourself short as I think you’ll definitely be passing on some good info for us to learn and benefit from. I’m thinking that it won’t be long now until you pooch something up but good and then bam! We’ll all have learned what not to do. So thanks in advance buddy, happy building! 😝

@stevesdams
Have to agree with Matt you are selling yourself short. Watching Mark demonstrate how to do a job is one thing, but he has been building for years. Watching a non professional builder follow the course is a different dimension, besides the world is waiting for you to get it wrong so no pressure.
if you do make a mistake just put the wig on again and pretend you’re Mark, you could play two roles with some clever tv editing. You getting it wrong and Mark sorting it out. Watch Olaf the violin maker on utube he’s quite funny.

Hey @mattbeels, @rocknroller912, @clinton and previous posters...
really appreciate your feedback...happy to try and entertain...and yes mistakes are being made!!!
next video is here
...
cheers
Steve
Mistakes aren’t mistakes they’re learning curves, either steep or shallow.

Doing manual jobs by hand???
That's never going to catch on ...
Nice bit of handsawing though. TBH, this is the real value in watching other people's builds. Mark's videos never (ok, hardly ever) go wrong. He's got all the kit that he needs to do things the way he does them. We don't get to see the "oh bugger, the bandsaw depth is too shallow" bits.

So you weren’t able to trim a bit off of the bottom of the neck heel to make it fit the saw? I guess you needed the length or it would be too risky to cut without knowing the exact length?

Hey @matbeels
Good point.. But yes you guessed that I Wasn't confident enough to know the final depth of the neck heel to know what leeway I have.
I'm trying to follow Mark's course in order so I don't get too confused..
Appreciate your thoughts
Cheers
