I wasn't happy with the router pattern for the neck pocket, it was a bit to wide. So I glued in a veneer and made a new one.
I have rounded the edge of the body with the router.
And the routed the neck pocket.

Yesterday I started with profiling the neck. And I made a mistake. I went a bit too deep near the headstock and made a tiny hole above the nut of the truss rod. And after calling out some not so nice words to The Lord that I won't repeat here I glued a piece of veneer on it.
Today I finished the profile and it turned out ok. Yes, the veneer is visible, but it's on the back of the neck and won't affect the playability.
Every time I pick up the bass I'll be reminded that I'm not perfect. Although I'm pretty close.

Today I celebrated my 66th birthday by working on the frets. Rounded the edges, leveled, recrowned and polished the frets.
And then put in the side dots.

So after a long winter break I've returned to my little shed to work a little on the bass again.
Routed the neck pocket and drilled some holes.
Routed the pick up cavity and drilled holes for the pots.
And drilled the holes for the neck screws.
A little mock up of what it will look like.
