That is a great little video, I love the way you get the heat on the binding! Nice work @clinton.

Give up the news folks, it’s liberating!

@Peebee

Thanks, binding is a little tricky but I just cannot seem to go without it.

@clinton Looks amazing as usual Clinton. I still haven’t tried making a thinline type body yet, it is high on my list though. You continue to inspire as usual. 👍🎸

That looks really good @clinton. Did you route a groove for the binding round the body before you carved the top?  I'm just thinking ahead to future builds and wondering if it would be a good idea to route a binding groove in the bottom part of the body before gluing on the cap.

Yup, routed before carving the top. I have binded a top and glued it on the body but not routed a binding and putting a top over it. That would be tricky taking the material off on top of the binding.

@Robin, I actually thought about it but never attempted. I am certain it is definitely doable with a little finesse scraping and sanding. Reason being is that I am already in the works for a 335 build and that untraditional concept of binding is in my bucket list due to the carve top and not having a flat surface to route out a binding. Straying away from making a floating router jig just for that purpose.

@Robin. Thank you! With much thought it will work! I have been dwelling on it gir a 335 carve top. Why not?  Let me know how it goes. You just made my day.

Hi @clinton. Another great job and great film. Who was the accompanying music? Was it Wooden Shjips?

@Robin thanks, the templates make it easy. Took me a while to make them. Circle patterns are very tough to get spot on and had to redi several times.

The circle templates I've made worked out well, I was lucky enough to have holes saws near enough the right size.
