I recommend every guitar builder should have a centre ruler
Another to add to the list...very useful tool..

I have too many guitars...said no one in the world..ever!
No scratch plate. My first attempt on a hidden Tenon. Kinda neat. Learned so much, figured out how.
That’s great @clinton.
i love working with wood. It throws up so many opportunities to find creative solutions. Just a matter of thinking about, working out how, and then doing it.
Great work.

@robin Well, just did that. Could not do it earlier because of the hidden tenon. Gotta glue the neck first then put the cap on but before that, I had to actually finish stain dye it first due to the hidden tenon and the top carve by the neck. Quite a chalkenge to have to do it this way.

Ah yes, I understand now, I hadn't realised that it wasn't glued together. My fret crowning file arrived yesterday, so thats my next job once my insides have healed a bit.
I managed to get my head into gear today to do a bit more on my second bandsman build. A bit of routing and bandsawing.

This model is only having one pickup and one volume pot. There is also not going to be any scratch plate so I need to do a stellar job of getting the tenon level with the body. I’ll have to use some filler as well but it gonna get painted. I’m only painting the body, not the neck. If only there was a finishing course I could take. 😁

I like the bumblebee pickup!
@mattbeels Thanks man, this is a Bareknuckle Rebel Yell in yellow and black. It’s not for this guitar but it is going on another Bansman that I will be building when I’ve done this one. In this one I’m using an Iron Gear Metal Machine in white.

Made some different control cavity templates today and routed it into the body. I also cut the body shape out on the bandsaw, I’ll route the shape tomorrow as the cold weather got a bit too much. The reason I made a different cavity is because I’m only having one volume control and a kill switch for one pickup in the bridge. I bought a few different momentary switches/buttons to consider, not made my mind up yet. Apparently the large one is from a games console (arcade style) and is favoured by many for a kill switch in a guitar, Buckethead for example.
