Thought I'd introduce myself. My Name is Roel from NZ. I haven't done an online course yet, but I've been making Cajon's and 4 string resonator guitars for a number of years from NZ native wood. I've been watching Mark's live Youtube videos, and they are great. Anyway I've attached some photos of my first Telecaster build, which ended up being multi-scale
Hey Roel - Welcome and congrats on the guitar! Outstanding work for your first build! I'm sure the others will agree and might have some q's for you - Let me be the first: What scale lengths did you decide on? - well done...can't wait to see the next one ?
Measure twice, cut once...
Hey Mark, thanks mate. I wanted a 24 fret Tele, but still keep all the standard dimensions, especially the neck. The Low E is standard 25.5" scale length, the high E is 24.0" scale length
Hi Roel - seen you on the live-streams - great to see one of your builds too.
Lots of people start with a Tele (simple construction) ... but a *multi-scale* Tele is a bit unusual! Looks really good, and great that you can use local timbers too.
Did you make the bridge?

Hi Clinton, 25.5" for the low E and 24.0" for the high E. The high strings are really easy to bend.
cheers

hey mate, yeah multi-scale a bit tricky, especially marking out the frets. I made the bridge plate from 2mm aluminium, and sourced the individual bridge units through Aliexpress, they are the nicest I could find. The 6 string multi-scale is for me and also an experiment, as I have a customer who has ordered a 7 string multi-scale Tele with through neck. big learning curve, as I'm teaching myself. I'm aiming to build guitars that are unique and custom.
what kind of guitars have you built??
Cheers

Awesome work Roel..I must try a multi scale at some point..
I have too many guitars...said no one in the world..ever!
yeah they look pretty cool, they play really nice. Marking them out is tricky, Although I did find a fretboard fret location program online, http://ekips.org&source=gmail&ust=1600000205639000&usg=AFQjCNGt_dzF4MvDxqJxZQSgWl2v2yt29 w">ekips.org - FretFind2D

great program, really helped me out with fret positioning for multi-scale. you can print of the templates etc, and use it in design software.
