I may have measured twice, but check the guide rail was locked I did not. Thankfully I only ballsed up the first mm. Stopped and completely reset. Not bad for only the 2nd time I’ve used a router I think.
Ears are on, not convinced about the fit which makes me worry about adding a chunk of body for the explorer shape
BUT
all things said, I’ve started and it’s going well so far.
Welcome back @cheesewhisk! I was wondering where you were...
It’s hard to tell on an iphone but did you have to fill and re-route the slot? Either way it looks good and keep on keepin’ on!

Ah ok, cool. Obviously not a big deal as it won’t be seen later, so good job on fookin’ up!

@cheesewhisk It’s all fine and dandy.
Make guitars, not war 🌍✌️🎸
I may have measured twice
Every time Mark says "measure twice, cut once" I think "bollocks, that's not how it goes for me"
My reality is more, measure twice, cut... measure again.. scratch head trying to understand what could possibly go wrong whilst breathing a sigh of relief that I cut too little and not too much... measure again... and again... and a third time just to be sure... cut again...measure... swear.. measure again.... swear again, this time more elaborately and loudly... put down tools and make a cup of tea, to be consumed with several biscuits.
And that's just DIY, I haven't even started a guitar build yet, gawd knows how that will go!

Haha @jonhodgson but get in 'yer shed and start making that guitar! So what if you make a few mistakes, that’s all part of the fun!

Nerves about starting or completing a job are quite common among craft people. I’ve even heard of professionally trained makers who can’t progress with work because they are terrified of making a mistake. The trick is not to over think or plan too much. That might sound silly but going through a mental rehearsal before you’ve got tools in your hand can become a barrier. Written check lists of all the steps are a way of making sure you don’t miss anything.
Some people call me a tool, others are less complimentary. Tools being useful things.
More progress. This is actually starting to look like neck and everything
Cheers guys, I really appreciate the support / encouragement.
i tweaked the headstock from the original design as I realised it wouldn’t hang on a guitar stand with the initial design. I’m honestly really chuffed with how it’s turned out so far
Some good router work there @cheesewhisk 👍🏻
I have too many guitars...said no one in the world..ever!
