That's spooky @deej - not only did you find a photo of the book, you found a photo of some bald bloke with a load of guitars, WITH the book!!

Fyi, that etching solution is good for relicing guitar parts if you’re ever so inclined.

Great to know @mattbeels 👍🏻

I have a load in the garage as I never new the best way of disposing of it. I may try that out.

Thanks - I'd be interested to have a read @Deej.

I don't think we've swapped real world addresses (?) - I'll email you.

That's the chap!

Hello, fellow Dummy @Deej

I found that quite a straightforward book to follow - and helped my fill in a few gaps in my knowledge.

TBH, it was more a complete absence of knowledge rather than a few gaps.

If all else fails Matt, you could always use a Birmingham screwdriver. 😉

@boo

I assume that means a hammer? 😂

I should actually read that book, like I said electronics were never my strength.

I can totally relate to sucking at soldering. I remember teaching myself how to do as a teenager once I had acquired two guitars and went about swapping everything over. It was fun but the results were less than stellar.

Years later when I decided I’d had enough of those dickheads at the repair shop and decided to become one myself, I still sucked at soldering.

But after a while I actually got pretty darn good at it. I had a lot of practice of course, but still. The point is, it really isn’t all that difficult. Like anything else it takes the proper technique, knowledge, tools and a lot of patience, but what really helped me was the use of really good solder. I use Kester and it really makes a big difference imo to use the high quality stuff. You get in and get out and you’re left with a nice shiny glob, it’s quite satisfying after that.

I’m pretty sure that it’s long out of print but Adrian Legg wrote a book on electronic projects for guitarists, lemme see if I can find it...

I think Matt is in GermanyLand.

Though, from his use of English, I'm wondering ...

I had the wrong title (must have something to do with my english I guess 🤷🏼‍♂️) but I was correct that it’s oop and since it’s from ‘81 it’s rather old and outdated. Like you lot. Suck iiiiiiiiiit!!!!

Very kind of you @deej but as @tv101 so eloquently stated I reside in “GermanyLand”, ahem. Therefore it doesn’t make sense but thanks all the same!
