@boo Uh-mazing job on those EVH covers! Personally I prefer open face pickups but this is such a great idea that I’m absolutely going to fookin’ steal it 🤪 But seriously, what was your idea t...

Happy New Year all. Looking forward to Saturday's live video. Can't wait to start my first guitar. Just finished my first drawing. Can't even believe I drew it. 🙂

RE: Starting the process, guitar number 1

A practice with neck taper template and the excellent @bagpress fret slotting jig. Works a treat, accurate and simple to use. Regards Paul Borrett Attachment : 20210107_141533.jpg

Hi Peebee 06/01/2021 6:34 pm @robin, you can also line the neck pocket template with tape just to shrink a little and give a snug fit. That's a good idea, I hadn't thought of that.

RE: Starting the process, guitar number 1

That’s how I did mine, I made three in the end. It was just tricky at the outset getting the measurements spot on and aligning the straight edge to rout.

Well got there, this is the most difficult jig of the lot! @peebee I haven’t made my jigs and such yet but I would think this one would be rather easy. If the blank has at least one straight factory ...

Got off work early today so I decided to get going on the neck carve. I was shooting for my favorite asymmetrical neck carve which is on my PRS McCarty 594 as my profile pic. Took me about 3 hours and...

RE: Bandsaw Practice

@boo, looking into it further, 480mm works, well close, for a 24fret fretboard, but for 22 frets then the distance between the to width measurements drop to 457mm. If you have a 22 fret fretboard but ...

Hi Peebee Its worth noting that there is a difference though and it may / will affect the neck pocket size, so follow this part of the on-line course with a note of caution I would suggest. My heel ...

RE: Starting the process, guitar number 1

@Robin, I think you’re right as the distance to the 24th fret from the nut is 476.252mm so close to 480mm. My kit is a 22 fret, so 457mm, just checked again as doubt briefly crept in. Its worth notin...

Hi James I'm in two minds about your logo font. To keep with the Mackintosh style, then straight, and I think that suits the gibson style headstock. I would say the sloped one looks better on the tap...
