My favourite song is from my musical friend John Spijker. Two years ago I played with him in a trio setting with a great drummer (the one who I gave one of my home build basses) on a local festival. A couple of weeks ago he asked me to jam with him and the drummer again, which I did with pleasure. We played some of his songs and some covers and decided we should do it more often. And so we will. This is one of his songs.

The first time I went to Scotland, to do a BYO course at the Bailey workshop (in 2004), Mark played me a DVD of Tommy Emmanuel. I could't believe what I saw and heard. Since then if Tommy was in the Netherlands I went to see his concerts. My favourite song today is from this DVD.

My favourite song today is of my favourite Dutch drummer Lucas van Merwijk and his Cubop City Big Band. I met him e few times in the past. First time was somewhere in the eighties when I sold a Ludwig Colloseum snare drum (these are legendary!) to him.
When I met him after a concert many years later I told him I was the fool who sold the Ludwig Colloseum snare drum to him and that I still regretted selling it. He replied by saying he had sold it to one of his drum pupils and he also regretted selling it.
