@mario Wlll the fretboard have edge binding. If so and you have spare material in the length then you could cut it through at the 15th fret and make the fretboard in two pieces discarding the mistake....

@bpower I would worry about pulling the crack open with a plane, but a good sharp blade and thin shavings should be ok. In theory it shouldn’t be any different to planing over the centre join.
