RE: Hi to all sawdusters

@boo I agree with you but my Aldi band saw has been a cracking little tool for the £60 or whatever I paid for it. Admittedly it was the size that appealed more than anything when I got it, at that tim...

Cheers @boo, I only have stain as opposed to paint and no spray gear. The potential for making it worse is definitely there if I do try to “fix” it 😬 Anyway, who told you about the drill bits ...

RE: Essential Tools and Precision Tools.

@russ I’ve used tools from a variety of companies, ones I’ve had from Crimson Guitars are my favorite. They’re expensive but a delight to use and so far have been totally happy with them!

@irishwhiskeycoke Hey, so my current build was all done with an Aldi bandsaw, the only Aldi power tool I’ve had that’s not died or tried to kill me. I replaced the blades with ones from which have be...

RE: In the beginning we mark the nut...

@robin thanks for the feedback! Unfortunately the glue is in the grain a little too so I’m not convinced either will actually work, why I didn’t mask it before glueing is beyond me 😔

@tej Thats looking really good, the depth to that green is great. Try scraping the glue residue with a blade, I think you could be more accurate in what you're removing that with wire wool. I wouldn't...

RE: In the beginning we mark the nut...

@koendb thanks 🙏 I checked around the join, there’s a gap (😔) on one corner where I’ve not fully seated it in the pocket on one side, I’d need a feeler gauge to measure it so it’s smal...

@Tej Wow man really nice result ! I really dig the color as well.Regarding the neck position, can it be that it not only is seated a bit lower, but also that it moved back a little bit? that might exp...

RE: In the beginning we mark the nut...

Finally after finishing, having to sand back and re-apply the finish I have the neck in. Now, one of us, let’s say me, seems to have left a thin coat of glue residue where the heal of the neck joins t...

RE: BYOEG Black Stealth

Next time I will glue the neck in and then put a cap over the whole body top to cover the joint. “It is the only way…” Yeah, if you don’t want a pickguard or a neck pickup I think that’s the way to ...

Hi @irishwhiskeycoke welcome to the revolution. I hadn't done any woodwork since GCSE about 30 years ago but I've managed to bumble along here (with a lot of help.) For bandsaw I found that Aldi occas...

One of the best things about the course is that it's broken into sizable sections @cheesewhisk, yes. I've watched a few of the live streams and about half way through the course. Mark makes it look s...
