I cut the body break angle yesterday – like the headstock bandsaw then router and jig.
The wedge removed doing the headstock angle has had a quick coat of finishing oil just see what it could look like. -

Headstock angle cut – bandsaw then router with extended base – I have a double ended version of Mark’s headstock angle jig – the ‘other’ end is to do the body break angle.

The blank has been planed and then run though my drum sander – very happy with how it looks.
Hopefully will get some more progress this week.

I took the original blank to bits and one of the bits of maple was warped….. Also I think I took too long getting it all clamped up so maybe the glue had gone off before pressure was applied? The… Read more»

Darren very kindly sent me some glue and some new veneer arrived yesterday so I hope to get the through blank glued up over the weekend……

Feels very good – now we have a third bedroom again and enough space in the garage for my drum sander, planer thicknesser and band saw to free up space in the ‘workshop’….
