Thanks… if I go with magnets I think they will be a reasonable distance from the pickups holding on the backplate rather than the scratchplate… good heads-up though…

back to the original subject…I wonder whether using cyanoacrylate as a wood finish would have done the job?Anybody had any experience of using superglue in this way?H
