@nortski I don’t think the exact specs matter that much. Shaping and slotting the nut is done very late in the process and you make it fit the guitar you just built, matching the neck width, height of the frets… Read more»

@nortski I’ve used wood glue in the past, just squeeze a small bead in the slot then bang in the fret but my preferred method is to run medium superglue in from the ends after fitting. I find the medium… Read more»

@nortski It is not unusual to fill the slot with glue, either before inserting the fret, or using thin superglue applied at the fret ends. This should supposedly secure the fret ends and make firmer contact between the frets and… Read more»
