@rathius I was thinking like a tree, dragon etc. Could fill with resin, getting the hang of that now. The secret is a tiny amount of pigment, then you can get patterns in the resin instead of a solid block… Read more»

@rathius A dark wood headstock plate is perfect for hiding everything though! Superglue and sawdust, brilliant on the likes of ebony or that.
I can tell you now I’m not that good with the dremmel router! 🤣

Frets in, side dots in, fret ends filled and the main neck carve is done. Next up will be some headstock work I think

@rathius I’ve got the neje 3 plus, have been thinking about doing a full on fretboard job but so far just use it for the headstock logo. I leave the power fairly low then just keep running the laser over… Read more»

@boo it would take an awful lot of soldering to get any harm from the lead, not nearly big enough amounts. It’s like a lot of things, 2k spray etc, the danger can come from using it all day everyday.

@boo Heat the item, add the solder lol. And use leaded, that lead free stuff is naff, I can do everything with a simple 30 watt iron using leaded stuff.

Got the trussrod slot routed, headstock angle done and fretboard glued and clamped. I like cutting the headstock angle wide of the line with the bandsaw then using a handplane to bring it into place.

Yes buddy, the retainer bar for the strings to be exact. I have to remove the retainer bar to remove the cover to get access to the trussrod. Lesson learned so now it’s spoke wheel for floyds lol.
