Got a good bit of the neck cut out, sorted the heel, done the neck pocket and planed the angle into the heel for the tom bridge.

And got the ash stripe lined up nicely

Well after a bit of faffing about I think I’m fairly happy now. Next job, assembly
 

  Been trying things out for the finish on this one when it comes. First is sawdust and superglue to fill the cracks then a coat of oil based polyurethane thinned and a touch of amber stain.

@tv101 Not saying it’s terrible, just maybe not as good as having an actual piece of the wood lol. Worst case in this context 🤣 🤣

@tv101 Worst case you could maybe use random wood then add a veneer to match the top?

Neck blank has been routed, trussrod fitted and fretboard glued, I can get on with that tomorrow or something but in the meantime I’ve been out and levelled the top of the body blank then cut it out.
 

@robin Loads more adjustment too, I always fit new strings on a new build. At least it helps rule the problem out if there is a problem.

@robin just leave loads of winds on the pegs, that way you can reuse them if it doesn’t fix the problem. I don’t really worry about tuning stability at that stage, just saving the strings lol
