@nsj Not sure on the bridge, being a hollow body means less to work with I’d imagine. Maybe if the recess was a particular shape or that, or maybe even just a touch larger then the edges rounded off or… Read more»

[quote data-userid=”916″ data-postid=”23390″] @nsj Yeah I understand. I managed to get mine for £390 though so I was quite happy. It’s still a lot of money for a sander but not all sanders are made equal. 😆 I used to… Read more»

@nsj Yes, it’s oak and mahogany. The oak was a whisky barrel top, horrible to work with, I’ll not be doing again. I think the sunken bridge looks not too bad, what would you suggest to make it look its… Read more»

@nsj I actually can sharpen the blades alright, but my planing technique is so bad I can’t make the wood flat… 🤨
Practice makes perfect, I suppose. -
Koendb replied to the topic "Thickness sander?" – 2 years, 3 months ago
@nsj Yes I know you meant flattening, I just wanted to point out that you can also do the radius with a plane. I never get good results with sanding alone and it takes too much time 🙂

Maybe sandpaper on a brush handle
Thats exactly how to do it. You just need different diameter brush handles to match the radius of the your many gouges.
