Its always difficult making a one off design because a lot of time is spent refining the process then it’s never used again. -

Yes it’s hard to find a balance that feels good and a neck that’s too thin can be hard to play I find, as well as being unstable. -

Good finish, Danish Oil is my favourite and good point about the cloths. I know a violin maker who burned his workshop down by throwing wet cloths in a bin full of wood shavings -
