I think you said a while ago you suck at routing. You’re not the only one. Look at my patch work of repairs to cover up sloppy router work.Fretboard will hide all thank goodness.

Top marks for doing it the hard way. I did that years ago with setting and sharpening a hand saw converting it to rip. I only did it once, never again.

Slow progress on the build due the gardening season, routing out the head thickness. There’s still 2 mm to remove but when the neighbours start looking out of their windows and it’s after 9pm maybe it’s time to stop making…   Read more»

Selecting wood from the scrap pile for my practice build body. It’s 35 mm thick so I should be able to plane the holes out and join two bits. It used to be as school bench.

@tej looks like you have put the clamps directly onto the headstock. Putting a solid block in between would be needed if you start with a thinner veneer. Moisture in the glue can cause a thin piece to curl up…   Read more»
