When I’ve glued veneer I dampen the non gluing side to even out the effect of moisture in the glue. Don’t know if this is usual or not but I always think out of the box. -

I always make the radius before I cut the fret slots as I find using a plane can chip at the slots. -

@tv101 Yes it can be pricey but works well. Rub in a small amount with a soft cloth. Good for ebony where hand sweat leaves a deposit over time as it’s mildly abrasive, but not so much to wear away… Read more»

Ebony polish is what I use on violin fingerboard. It’s a brand called Old Wood and you don’t need much. -
