If you need to make a curved slot try making a curved scraper to match a curved bottom nut then scrape it front to back. -

@koendb I use the same set up as for cutting the fret slots but with a tapered fret board it’s more difficult to get it square. Clamps as well as tape can be used but the tightening will move everything… Read more»

I probably would have worked it out eventually, I’m a bit rusty after having a long lay off from guitar stuff and using power tools. Mostly I’ve been using hand tools.

Good luck. Repairs and restorations are about deceiving the eye, so straight lines don’t always have to be at 90 deg they can be at an angle to match grain lines. - Load More
