RE: Making routing guides with a laser engraver

@musicjohnmcculloch-net It would be nice to have that Z-axis motor. It is fiddly to adjust the height manually. Please keep us posted on your progress with pine. 👍

RE: Making routing guides with a laser engraver

That would work as well; though if you check out E80 cutting 16mm pine it suggests that pine would also be an option. I haven't tested with pine, I'll give it a go in the next couple of days.

Good afternoon, Here's a question that I am sure must also come up with 6 string pick ups. The bridge that I have ordered has 19mm string spacing ie 57mm in total but the pitch of the bridge pickup po...

I guess it also allows for a greater distance between the pick ups and I think with a longer neck it would make sense to go for a heavier body material just to maintain balance. I may go to 33.25" or ...

@russ Thanks Russ, I'll keep tbe binding option open. It would probably be less prone to damage with binding on it too.

@darrenking I think the split 3mm from joint line was a weakness, but once I'd cut that out and rejoined it, the board was sound. The split that I've repaired since then was caused by my own clumsine...

I'd have taken this up with the supplier as it sounds like there was a pre-existing weakness in the soundboard. Before you glue it onto the body have a REALLY good look at it with a very bright light ...
