Absolutely gorgeous - great plan! You'll probably find guitars much easier now after that - I did anyway. I found ukes to be a lesson in humility myself as they are much smaller and very much fiddlier...

My first uke from offcuts

This is my first ukelele - I made it from offcuts from a a hard flooring company near me and as such, was able to make a shed load of inexpensive mistakes in the course of my learning. I invested in ...

Thats the neck/body joint done, fretboard glued, the neck carved and dry fitted. Doesn't sound much when you say it quickly, but its certainly a challenge getting the neck/body joint without gaps, on...

RE: Making routing guides with a laser engraver

Hi - I've just done some tests with pine. Firstly I used 18mm pine with a variety of settings, but it was having none of it. I then used 8mm pine which cut pretty well with the following settings: ...

@musicjohnmcculloch-net It would be nice to have that Z-axis motor. It is fiddly to adjust the height manually. Please keep us posted on your progress with pine. 👍

RE: Making routing guides with a laser engraver

That would work as well; though if you check out E80 cutting 16mm pine it suggests that pine would also be an option. I haven't tested with pine, I'll give it a go in the next couple of days.

Found another pair of clips. I played with Marcellino and Suzy for a couple of years in a trio. We tried to make a video of the song "A night like this", but it didn't work out at first. But eventua...

I've made my bridge now, that's a fun wee project in its own. Took me about 6 hours to do what @markbailey does in his 35 minute video, but just follow the instructions and it happens. Photos of its v...

I guess it also allows for a greater distance between the pick ups and I think with a longer neck it would make sense to go for a heavier body material just to maintain balance. I may go to 33.25" or ...

@russ Thanks Russ, I'll keep tbe binding option open. It would probably be less prone to damage with binding on it too.

RE: Robin's build #004

@darrenking I think the split 3mm from joint line was a weakness, but once I'd cut that out and rejoined it, the board was sound. The split that I've repaired since then was caused by my own clumsine...
