RE: My first laminated semi-hollowbody

Meanwhile, the frets can go in. I opted for an ebony fingerboard because archtops/jazz guitars always have ebony fingerboards. Obvs.. I also opted for stainless steel frets, but Mr Bailey really didn’...

RE: 🎶🎸 Your Favourite Song In This Moment 🎸🎶

I bought the Bob Marley / Wailers back catalogue a while back (my musical education hadn't extended to them back in the day) and struggled to find a bad track. Just consistently great music, albeit w...

Not another 12 string semi-hollow thru-neck Tele-esque build ... 😆 What a great build thread, and a few interesting design ideas that I might well pinch (sorry, "be inspired by") on a build ...

@tyreman I’ve somehow missed this until now. Nice work man, I’m loving it. I especially like the input socket bit, I’ve thought of doing that myself. Was it Charvel or someone like that that first did...

@boo What is that paint job like? Its got a good finish on it, feels a bit plasticy, I wonder if its been plastic coated, maybe powder sprayed/coated rather than painted.

@boo - I think you misinterpreted what I meant 😉 Robin's body split because there wasn't enough thickness of the wall of the guitar once he'd hollowed out the cavities, not because the body itself ...

@tv101 Yeah I know what you mean but you have to consider the depth of the neck pocket too. If the body was thinner, the neck would have to be thinner. Making the body thinner is reducing strength fro...

Been thinking about the ply-guitar. IIRC, @robin had a problem with a body which he'd hollowed out, but the edge then split when he applied pressure to it. If hollowing out a solid piece of timber, y...
