@tv101 CNC eh, hmmm. Surely that takes all the fun, excitement, frustration, blood, sweat, tears, satisfaction (delete as appropriate) out of this wonderful mad journey we’ve embarked upon!!🤣🤣
P.S. I’m only jealous I don’t have a CNC👍🤣🤣 -

Good to see another build underway. A nice warm-summer project (when you’re not at the caravan!).
I’m at the caravan now, but I’ve not been idle. Started to make the molds for forming the sides.

@tv101 Thanks a lot for that advice, I have tried the screw in bolt ferrules in the past with limited success, going to try the shortened screw in this build and attempt to match the same thread carefully when re-attaching… Read more»

Not at all JB is the one working on veneer and he’s got more experience than the rest of us. Experts are for,Ed in the white heat of experimentation. Cue the degree course in veneering -

NSJ replied to the topic "Next project – a rebuild" – 2 years, 1 month ago
@tv101 Not saying it’s terrible, just maybe not as good as having an actual piece of the wood lol. Worst case in this context 🤣 🤣
-
NSJ replied to the topic "Next project – a rebuild" – 2 years, 1 month ago
@tv101 Worst case you could maybe use random wood then add a veneer to match the top?

Your guitar looks great T, nice work. -
swepri replied to the topic "Next project – a rebuild" – 2 years, 1 month ago
@tv101 An absolute improvement over the old finish!
I agree that the cavity cover should look better with same grain direction as the body. But is it possible to throw away the old one? It’s shaped like a boomerang. 😉 -
Robin replied to the topic "Next project – a rebuild" – 2 years, 1 month ago
@tv101
Very nice, I like the natural finish. I don’t think that wood of the cavity cover necessarily has to match the body but I do prefer the grain in the same direction. -
NSJ replied to the topic "Another one" – 2 years, 1 month ago
@tv101 but only one at a time instead of batches lol
