RE: Ash doesn’t need grain filling I think it looks great Yeah it does look great, I agree. It is a design choice and it does look good but if you wanted a high gloss finish, you would have to grain fill Ash a lot, it’s a lot of work.... |

RE: what is this wood, maple? Hi Simon, It really doesn’t look like maple to me, too soft too open grain. If you can lark it with you thumb nail it is maple! Much more likely to be softwood but hard to be definitive from a couple ... |
