It’s a design choice!

Although Steve Robinson (Manchester Guitar Tech) described this as 70s Habitat. Black nitro straight onto raw Ash.

I think it looks great 😎

Yeah it does look great, I agree. It is a design choice and it does look good but if you wanted a high gloss finish, you would have to grain fill Ash a lot, it’s a lot of work. Either way it’s still a nice wood for building guitar bodies with.

No filling and only oil...can be a little difficult to work on as Ash has hard and soft grain. 

I have too many guitars...said no one in the world..ever!
