RE: ES335

Hi Darren, My Yamaha AES1500 has an almost 5mm thick top (I try not to do inches). And unlike the 335, it has a neck block and bridge block with a couple of top braces supporting the pickups, rather t...

RE: Routers

Hi Matt, send the files to darren.king@bagpress.com. Do you know what app your designer is using to draw the plan? Best file types for me are .ai, .pdf or .dwg (LT2000 version). Also if you can get hi...

@darrenking I was just having a bit of fun, I know Festool makes great stuff. A few years ago I helped out a neighbor at his furniture shop and got to use some of their routers and sanders so I’m well...

RE: Routers

DeWalt 621 is a great little router and probably has the best dust extraction of any that I have ever used including my Festool routers. If you see one in good condition on eBay snap it up. Darren

@rockpile99 I laminated poplar for a neck from a futon couch/bed frame. Pretty solid. Watch out for the knots in pine. They tend to fall out when tou hit it with the rasp.

RE: Template damage

Hey Guys, I'm going to make another set of templates from my master templates. Will it be okay to rout straight through the MDF or will it cause it to rip out?

@boo Halfords do a car body filler called chemical metal which is good for template repairs. It's harder than the basic stuff and stands up to repeated use with a bearing cutter. Very hard to rub down...
