Thats great work @wayne_f Not sure what is the hardest part - but there is so much going on with the neck, with sizing and shaping and its the part of the guitar that you touch the most while playing...

Well, "hardest" meaning the most strenuous. I know there are still plenty of opportunities to screw it up haha. @wayne_f Yes, I totally agree on both counts.

Nice video @wayne_f , I'm not sure that making the neck is the hardest bit, but I do enjoy it though.

Thank you Mark

Today I played a guitar I built with my own hands. She’s far from finished, no cover plates and the nut isn’t even glued in yet, but I plugged her in and she played like nothing I’ve ever experienced....

Looks good @wayne_f. On the next fillet just get it close but not fitting in the slot. Then sand it to the final thickness with a sanding block to get the snug fit you want.

I like how you have shaped the neck heel to the body Thanks @russ it didn't start off quite as close as that, but by the time I sanded out saw cuts and chisel marks thats where it ended up, so just...

Routing the headstock angle revealed a defect exactly at the edge of where the headtock will be. Maybe I can get some grain filler to fix it. @wayne_f It may not be a problem, just keep going and see...

@Wayne_F @robinSomehow that never occurred to me. I could add maybe 1/4" of height and that would probably take care of it. Thank you. I've had a lot of help and advice from this group, I'm glad to ...

Here's a short update on progress. More will be happening very shortly. @wayne_f Yeah, I offset the hole in my router base plate to avoid that happening. It’s no big deal, you can just cut some exces...

@Wayne_F That little practice neck was worth doing, and I like the shape of the headstock. Would it be an option to make your headstock routing jig just a little deeper, so that your router base would...

Making a mock-up neck seems like a great idea to me...a little practice...I bought some cherry wood that I had to cut & clamp, for a neck, then decided I would save that for a Mandolin build later...

I'm up to 12 coats of laquer now and sanded with 1000 grit and got rid of all the tiny runs and ripples that I couldn't see before I sanded. Should I leave it at that for polishing or put a wet coat o...
