That is a Masterpiece. Not just the Art of Painting but to be that creative in the design is fantastic.
@russ You flatter me sir. Thanks.
That metal flake will only really start dancing when I get the clear top coat on. This is some intercoat clear basecoat to protect it whilst I do the back of the guitar. When it’s all in colour, it’s time for topcoat. 👍✨✨🎸✨✨

**Last Update for a while**
I don’t want to keep boring you all with this same paint job so this is the last one for a while. I got painted the back differently to the front, using different masking techniques and I got it all in clear coat today. The good thing is, it’s really sunny here today so I had to get it out side for a couple of photos. It’s really difficult to photograph still, you have to see it in the flesh to watch the flake dance.

@boo. I don't find it boring Boo.
So, that's 1 vote for carry on, and 1 vote for stop now.
🤣 🤣
Seriously Boo - if that's half, nay, a quarter, as impressive in the flesh as it is in the photos, then it must look incredible.
I really like the front from a design perspective. The back is - I'm guessing - more of a technical exercise in seeing just how complex a design you could create?
I've got to find some boring looking wood, turn it into something guitar-shaped, and send it up to you. In the meantime, those hens are in for a treat ...

I don't find it boring Boo. The more the merrier. That back is outrageous.
@russ Thanks man. The camera doesn’t pick up half the detail from it and I wanted to do something different than the front. I’ll leave it for a day or two and then sand that clear flat again. It will need a flow coat (several coats).

@tv101 Thanks man. I really cannot get a decent picture, it’s so frustrating.
Yeah I like the design on the front much better, the back was just me trying out different masking techniques. The whole thing is just practice really and this body will probably be painted many times. This is ok but I will probably paint it black again and try something new.
Yeah sure, send me your guitar bodies and I’ll paint them. This is all in the R&D stage at the moment, I am honing my skills. I will do something with metal flake that is a little more subtle next time. There isn’t really any need for a lot of fancy masking, the metal flake says it all. I will just put one colour on next time and add a bit of shading.

It's glamtastic!
Does it come with flares and stilted boots?
A bit loud for me personally, but I'm shy. If I was in a Slade or Sweet tribute band, it would be perfect.
I'm looking forward to what you come up with next as your hone your already impressive skills.

@jonhodgson Thanks man. Yeah, I’ll definitely be toning things down a bit. It will still be glittery, just not as busy.

Well it definitely looks like great work. I dig the front. I understand what you were doing on the back. It’s good to branch out and just go wild with that stuff, it makes you better.
@mattbeels Yeah I like the front better than the back, I went a bit nuts really.
Ive just been asked if I can do a bright sparkly pink metal flake Strat for a young girl in America who is quite ill with a rare disease, she may not live to see her 20th birthday in a few years. Her favourite colour is pink and her dad plays songs on an old guitar for her. A good friend of mine is her doctor and he came up with the idea of making them a new guitar that they can both enjoy. She can enjoy looking at the sparkle and her dad can enjoy playing the new guitar, and my mate and I get to make a cool guitar for a good cause. It’s a heartbreaking story and I agreed to do it as soon as my mate asked me. This is the distributed guitar production model in motion. UK/USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸✨✨🎸👍

Waaaaaait a minute! You said no more posts about that damn glitter glam guitar for a while and now you not only go back on your word but you have the audacity to subject us to that age old question of chrome or black, wtf?!?!?!
Gold dude, that guitar deserves gold 🤑!
Practice on scrap...
