🍭🍬I’ve been playing around with candy paints and techniques today🍬🍭

I tried using some lace as a stencil for creating a pattern and I used some sticky stencils to practice scales and shading. It’s all candy paint, so transparent, the metal flake will shine through.
I need to keep trying different things and keep practicing but I’m getting there, I think. It would look much better with a few coats of clear over it to make it really pop. ✨✨✨✨🍭🍬🍭🍬

🍭🍬I added a few more scales and more tangerine into the shading. I also pulled one of the pin stripes off and gave it a little gold. 🍬🍭✨✨

🍭🍬As the flake itself is sealed in with clear coat, I can wipe all or some of this candy off and start again, the flake will still be there. 🍬🍭

I may do that tomorrow.

Does Mrs Boo know that you’ve used the best lace tablecloth

Some people call me a tool, others are less complimentary. Tools being useful things.

@rocknroller912 Yeah I know and I like to reuse (upcycle) whatever I can. I like to get my moneys worth, it’s only in a wardrobe doing nothing. I’ll stick this bit back on when I’ve finished with it, nobody will every know. 🤫

Appart from all the paint on it. 😬

@mattbeels Thanks dude. I’m taking inspiration from some of those American biker paint jobs that are out there. 👍

Great ideas man.

@russ Thanks Russ, they are techniques I’ve borrowed from the automotive industry, mainly American low rider type things.

I’ve run out of gloves.

I’ve been mixing candy concentrates today and I didn’t have any gloves left to protect my hands. I got a little bit of gold candy powder on my hands whilst mixing and tried to clean it off with some thinner (reducer) on a rag, it didn’t work, it just made my hands yellow. I then did the same thing with some blue powder. On top of my already yellow hands, the blue pigment turned my hands green. These pigments are super concentrated and very difficult to get of your skin, looks like I’ll be green for a few days. 🤢
