@nsjΒ

I love the way I handle mistakes these days rather than freak out. It's from making loads previously

Thats a good fix. I'm sure that I learn a lot more from fixing mistakes than I do from getting it right first time, I think thay call it experience.

@robin definitely buddy, I don't freak out as much now, just think of a possible solution and get on with it

Right, fretwork and markers all sorted. Now it's close to gluing in the neck. First I'll clamp it and check I have the height for the bridge though, then glue.

Went slightly deep on the fret slots but hey ho, it's all good

Ooooh my first set neck is now glued and clamped! Better look up proper bridge position for a TOM next so I can get the post holes all drilled once the glue has set. Sure it was something like scale plus 1/8 inch for the high E then low E sits about 3 - 4mm further back.

Well. I got my bridge holes all sorted, sanded the body to 320 and now put the first coat of finish on the top, amber tinted polyurethane thinned down. Next I'll do the whole thing with just the poly, couple of coats then leave to cure.

I sanded the whole guitar back and applied more thinned down polyurethane, couple of coats. Now I'll wait a day or two and apply the microcrystaline wax then assemble. The first coats of poly helped fill the grain.

All sorted, Brazillian mahogany with ash strip neck and body. Oak top, oak plate on headstock. Gotoh hardware and warman pickups, hot lil devil set. Piece of elm burl for the trussrod cover.

Β

Plays nice, sound great!
