Alan popped round today bringing two lovely guitars with him - the Bandsman he built in Ayr and a stunning Les Paul build.
Good to have a chat and plot more visits to Bailey’s.
Hope we can get together to have a play!
Measure once........ Measure again......... Sod it - make tea!
No pics of the meet this time around - Alan’s Bandsman has featured in workshop course videos - the Les Paul was built elsewhere in 12 days I think (or was it more) lovely inlays - played and sounded really good - perhaps Alan can post some pics...

@rocknroller912 thank you. It’s constructed from two intersecting offset ovals. Not sure where the inspiration came from, but I’m pleased with the result.
I’d make a few mods on the MK2 though. In particular an asymmetric deeper cutaway to give more space for accessing the dusty end.
it’s currently back with Mark to see if he can mod it a little. Otherwise I’ll just have to make another 🙂
24 frets (it was supposed to have 24 but I messed up)
change the cut away
chamber the body (it weighs a ton) - maybe even make it semi-hollow. A nice crescent ‘f hole’ around the scratch plate would look good I think.
mod the electrics - too complicated
change the control cavity to make better space
adjust where the jack socket is
change the push-push pots to SG because the current ones don’t fit well with the way I’ve created the ‘jack’ housings.
