Back on topic, here’s my favourite two chord song of all time, subject of the shortest ‘How to play...’ tutorial on YouTube ever!

My son, Joss, now regularly answering the phones at Bagpress, was especially taken with the ‘B’ side, Sandman, and I took him to see the band in Cambridge, probably when he was 8 or 9. Great night and the first tine he got to meet the band after a gig! I think they were a little surprised, but very happy, to know that they were still recruiting new fans!

For anyone who wants to know, start on Em, then move one finger up, and one finger down, and then return to original positions and repeat. It’s actually far more to do with the right hand rhythm  (if you are right handed) and damping the strings than the chords but it’s a great strummer!

This is one of my all-time favourite tracks (I have the full concert DVD).  Put it on, play it through the proper stereo (OK, 5.1) and turn it UP.  Then turn it up some more.  Repeat.

Then put the windows back in.
